Adult Apprentice Excels in Apprenticeship

Angela King works for the City Health Care Partnership (CHCP) within the Health Promotion Team at Conifer House. She decided to do an Adult Apprenticeship in order to gain the necessary qualifications to progress her career at the CHCP. The clear understanding and professional support given to Angela by her assessor, Emma Santos, also helped Angela to decide that an Apprenticeship was right for her.

"My favourite part about working at the CHCP is the support and friendliness of the people I work with which makes coming to work enjoyable.” At the CHCP, Angela provides secretarial/administration support for two managers and two other members of staff within the Health Promotion Team. Day to day tasks for Angela include diary management for her team, organising meetings and producing minutes of those meetings and the typing of documents and many other general office tasks. Angela’s favourite job is the project she is completing at the moment which involves getting feedback via a questionnaire, collating the results and putting them into a presentation to present to her colleagues. “What I like best about doing an Apprenticeship is the fact you can work at your own pace and at a time that suits you.  All the staff at Hull Business Centre are so helpful and friendly and willing to find out answers to any questions you may have and with that in mind I have and would definitely recommend Apprenticeships to other people.”

Finally, as we are in the festive spirit, we asked Angela what she would like from Santa this year...“I could be cheesy and say completion of my Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration!! But I would really wish for comfort in knowing that Santa has this year managed to not miss any presents off my children’s Christmas lists because there is always one!!!”
