Apprentice Progressing at Hull Business Training Centre

After completing her A-Levels, Laura Murray came to Hull Business Training Centre to start an Apprenticeship in IT Users. She quickly secured employment, working in marketing at HBTC and was soon progressing with her job role.

“To begin with I completed more basic tasks such as putting applicant details onto a spreadsheet and booking people in for interviews, I was also given a rather large shredding pile! After a while my job role started to grow and I now look after all of our online sites, produce the company newsletter and create marketing materials including the advert for the CfL Apprenticeship Handbook!"

Laura has also gone on to achieve her Advanced Level Apprenticeship and has now progressed into permanent employment. Laura is also undertaking a Foundation Degree in Graphic Design which she does part-time on an evening alongside her job.

“Apprenticeships are a great way to advance in both the world of education AND work. The process teaches you skills you will achieve nowhere else and offers many routes for progression. I’d definitely recommend Apprenticeships to everyone, in fact I already have!”
