Daniel Building Confidence With Apprenticeship

Being out of work for a long time and being turned down at job interviews because there was always ‘someone else more qualified for the role than you’ was beginning to affect Daniel Blackburn’s confidence. But after securing a job as Finance Assistant at NAViGO through the NHS Employability Scheme and starting an Apprenticeship with Hull Business Training Centre, Daniel’s luck is starting to turn.

“The Apprenticeship has helped me to gain confidence again, it has helped me to develop new skills, and prove myself within the company I work for. I’ve been given a great opportunity, and I intend to make the most out of this incredible chance.”

Daniel is now a month into his Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business and Administration and is progressing well. With intentions of progressing to his Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration, Daniel believes that the Apprenticeship is the key to his aspirations as he will gain new skills and confidence with every day.

“Doing the Apprenticeship not only provides me with skills from the workplace environment but you also gain highly recognised qualifications that show your achievement in your chosen area and helps you to develop and add to the skills that you are learning in the workplace.

An Apprenticeship is a brilliant way to progress in life and opens many new doors for you to progress in your career. I have had a very positive experience with the Apprenticeship so far and if you are looking to apply for one it may very well be the best choice you could ever make.”

Continuing to develop his skills and confidence we have no doubt that by the end of his Apprenticeship Daniel will be top of every employers list and it will be other candidates that are complaining about ‘that guy who is more qualified for the role than me’.

Simon Beeton is the Finance Director and NAViGO and says:

“Daniel has brought an enthusiasm and a fresh outlook on things and even in the short time he has been with us has integrated into the team very well. He is keen to progress and happy to help out where he can and learn new skills.”
